Amy M. Smith, OTR/L graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy.
Amy began her career working with adults in acute care settings, neurological rehabilitation facilities and skilled nursing facilities. She then transitioned to pediatrics and became very passionate about working with children of all ages and abilities. She worked in a pediatric outpatient setting, early intervention (Golden Gate Regional Center 2004-2014) and eventually opened and shared a pediatric private practice in San Francisco from 2008 to 2014.
Amy completed her Advanced Mentored Clinician in Sensory Processing Disorder Level 1 at the SPD Foundation in July 2013. She has completed entry and intermediate coursework in pediatric Kinesiotaping, is trained in Integrated Listening Systems, S.O.S Approach to Feeding, Interactive Metronome, Handwriting Without Tears, has certification for Yoga for the Special Child and has been trained under Lois Bly for treatment and handling techniques for infants. She also enjoys Adaptive Sports Instruction through Disabled Sports USA-Far West Chapter and serves on the board for Girls on the Run-Sierras.
Amy joined Children In Motion in September 2014 after relocating to Reno from San Francisco.
